Psalms 37:25
Jehovah Jireh (Our Provider)
"I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread."
Yesterday was all tithe and offering Sunday for our new building. Jimmy and I had decided on $100 which would have been a sacrifice for us, but we could have found odd jobs and made the money ourselves. But God kept impressing on us that we needed to give something that there was no physical way that our needs could be met except through Him. So Jimmy told me last week that he had come up with a new number and he wanted me to pray about it and see what number the Holy Spirit laid on my heart We also wanted to have this settled before we even knew we might be accepted in the military. Sure enough we both had the same number. Then God blessed and we found out on Friday that we were accepted, in the Army as a Warrant Officer !! That in itself is a miracle. Some people don’t find out board results for a month Then yesterday we gave our money for the building program. I cried the whole time. I knew in my heart God would provide, but it still hurt. Last night we had a victory dinner at church instead of a service and people were giving testimonies as to how God had blessed in their giving. Jimmy gave our testimony and after church this man walked up to us and asked if we would like to empty out his 16 cubit foot freezer!!! God is good. We have so much good food now. In the testimony Jimmy gave he mentioned that his grandfather had given us 59 cans of vegetables just to let people know that God does provide. What he didn’t say is that the supply was dwindling!! A couple of weeks ago I was getting tired of eating ground turkey and chicken quarters (just thighs and drumsticks) and I said "God you own the cattle on a thousand hills can you just give me one?" He gave us the whole farm!!!!!! We have an 8 lb. slab of bacon, fish, Texas toast, soft pretzels, 2.5 lbs. of whole bean coffee, bisquick, hamburger helper dinners, potatoes, cereals, soup mixes, huge turkey legs (like from fairs), 2 whole turkeys, fresh home-grown okra, sausage (lots), eggs, cheese, grits, the list goes on and on and on. Oh and three adorable teddy bears for the kids.
Our church secretary also asked me last night if I’d be interested in leading a Bible study for the ladies. I’m so excited. I told Jimmy I almost wish he didn’t have to work anymore because it has been so exciting seeing God work and provide. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
I could go on and on. Maybe I’ll write a book!! I can’t get over how faithful and good God has been.
