Our Father Knows
Luke 1-2
“And Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.”
Jesus, Son of the Living God, born of a virgin to save the world from their sins! . Pondering the thought of being a mother and then to know that He is God’s Son! That is a lot to take in. When the angel came to Mary, He told her to rejoice and called her ‘highly favored one’ and blessed among women, Mary was troubled. The angel continued to tell her that she would conceive from the Holy Spirit. The next verse (1:36) the angel tells Mary that her relative, Elizabeth was six months pregnant(she was called barren and was old in age). Mary goes to stay with Elizabeth for 3 months. God gives Mary the exact person that can help her understand pregnancy and the miracles of God. There were probably conversations about what they were going through physically and spiritually. Women love to talk about their pregnancies and they were no exception, I’m sure! Elizabeth spoke words to Mary that encouraged her and gave her wisdom. Elizabeth was carrying John the Baptist …the one that would announce the coming of Jesus and prepare the way for him. God knows exactly what we need and when we need it.
God also prepares the heart of Joseph for the miraculous conception with a visit from an angel. God orchestrates His perfect will in His perfect time. The shepherds were told from a host of angels of the coming of Jesus! Spend time reading the Story of the birth of our Savior and reflect on the miracles that God performed during that time. That same God is loving and caring for you and the details of your life. Spend time with Him during this Christmas Season….He knows and cares for you!!
